Please follow the steps below to check if the programmer is damaged.
Step 1: Make sure that you have not connected the XP400 or XP400 Pro programmer to the vehicle OBD connector via OBDII cable.
Step 2: Check if you use the right USB cable to connect the XP400 or XP400 Pro key programmer to the Autel IM608 or IM508 or IM608 Pro.

Note: There are two USB cables. One is VCI USB cable, another one is programmer USB cable.

Step 3: Enter Autel key programmer menu to select the programmer function

Step 4: In the [Version information] function, you can see the programmer version info incl. hardware and software info

Step 5: Try with both “Automatic detection” and the specific key type menu like “HITAG2” type depends on the key type

Step 6: Besides that, you also can visit Autel official website to download PC version programmer V2.61 software.

1.Create an Autel ID if you don’t have one
->> Go to the Autel product website http://pro.autel.com and log in on the current user login screen with the registered Autel ID

->> Select [PC Suite]-> [PC Programmer]-> [Download]

2.Finish download process, and open the installation package and follow the prompts to install the ATProgrammer software.

Note: The programmer software applies to XP200, XP400 and XP400Pro.
The software will auto adjust for the programmer.

Please kindly notice:

If the programmer connection can’t detect any keys both with PC end and tablet.

Please describe how the key programmer stops working after what operation. And it needs to return to the factory to repair if all of the methods above tried and not working.
