Here, eobdtool.co.uk runs through the process of programming Land Rover KVM 2015-2018 all keys lost, where the customer required a spare key.
The process was carried out in the following stages using the Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus Pad key programming device and Xhorse Solder-free Adapters, which allow for programming without soldering.
Vehicle –Land Rover KVM 2015-2018
Situation – Customer required a spare remote key for the vehicle.
Equipment and parts needed:
Xhorse Landrover KVM solder-free adapter (XDNP16)
Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus
Land Rover KVM module
A new smart key
Main steps:
- Read D-FLASH & EEPROM
- Load D-FLASH & EEPROM
- Make Dear Key
- Write D-FLASH & EEPROM
Step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Remove Land Rover KVM module, connect KVM solder free adapter with KVM module and Key Tool Plus
Step 2: Go to the “Prog” function on the main menu
Select Immo-> LANDROVER-> RFA- SECURED (MC9S12XET256) (ADAPTER)
Tap “Read” -> select “D-FLASH” and “EEE” in sequence -> click “Begin” to read the corresponding data
Note: Make sure the adapter and chip connected properly
When reading the original data successfully, save the file with a new filename.
Step 3: Go to the “Immo Data Tool” function on the main menu
Select Europe-> Land Rover-> Rover /Jaguar 2015- -> MC9S12XET256/ MC9S12XEQ384-> tap “Begin”
Load RFA DFLASH and EEPROM data
No need to load BCM DFLASH
Note: If not update this file, the emergence start in CJB/BCM will not work when new key without battery. Just click “No” to continue.
Step 4: Select “Make Dealer Key”
Select one unused key position
Put a new key want to be programmed into the coil of KeyTool Plus
Click “Make Dealer Key”
When the new key data has been read out, save the corresponding KVM RFA and EEPROM data.
Prepare dealer key successfully
Step 5: Return to the main menu
Select Prog-> Immo-> LANDROVER-> RFA- SECURED (MC9S12XET256) (ADAPTER) again
Click “Write” -> select “D-FLASH” and “EEE” in sequence to write the new data
