Autel MaxiCOM MK808: How to Reset SRS Airbag Light for VW

Today's article will show you how to reset Volkswagen’s airbag lights with autel mk808

Car model: VW Polo 6R

Issue: There is an airbag warning light that appears on the dashboard when turning the ignition switch on

Solution: diagnose and reset the airbag light with Autel MK808

The operational procedure:

Use the main cable of the Autel MK808 scanner to connect the device and vehicle

Enter Diagnostics function

Select Volkswagen-> System selection-> 6R- Polo-> Control unit-> Airbag-> Trouble codes

There are three fault codes that have been getting on the screen.

  • U112100: Passive/Sporadic- Databus missing message
  • B100A1B: Active/static- Front passenger-side airbag igniter resistance too high
  • U112100: Passive/Sporadic- Databus missing message

The B100A1B fault code seems to relate to the airbag system (front passenger airbag system). What we did is simply unclipped a connection underneath the passenger seat to actually cause this fault. So I’m gonna do is just pop that down there one second. I’m gonna see if I can reach under and plug this airbag back in. But after that, e airbag light is still on the dashboard.

So go to click “Clear DTC” on the MK808 scan tool.

Turn the ignition on and engine off

The DTCs and freeze data will be deleted. Just go to continue.

The fault codes are cleared successfully and no fault codes are detected now.

At the same time, you can see the airbag light is gone.

Awesome! It's very to reset the airbag light by using Autel MaxiCOM MK808 diagnostic tool.

Hope it helps!
